There is a first time for everything that we do in life… and this is the first time for me to talk with you through electronics!
Yikes! Blogging, video clips, internet radio shows…. All are new to me; exciting and sweat inducing too. I am definitely on my growing edge these days, expanding my comfort zone doing things I’ve never done before. Over the years we have had so many requests for these kinds of connections… and honestly we were not technologically savvy enough to do it. Even now it is a leap and a heart thumping stretch!
The intention of this blog is to stay connected and inspired as life-long learners, with a flow of information and ideas both ways: from us to you and from you to us.
This is an unfolding creative process… so be ready for changes. The plan right now is to have a new blog entry each week and a new video clip once a month. I am asking you to support this being a valuable experience for all of us by giving us suggestions about what you want to explore, as well as honest feedback about what works and what does not.
I am excited as well as a bit nervous right this minute, and the excitement is winning… so here goes.
I want to pose a question: What if your real job is to have a great life?
I will say that again…
What if your real job is to have a great life?
Open the doors of your heart and mind to this question, ask yourself… What if my real job is to have a great life? While you are being with that thought, I want to share one of my favorite poems by Mary Oliver.
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting–
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
What if your real job is to have a great life…?
Not to fulfill your parents expectations.
Not to prove anything to anyone.
Not to think small and play it safe.
Not to get a college degree or degrees.
Not to get a well paying job that withers your soul so you can pay the bills.
Not to hold yourself responsible for everyone else’s well-being.
Not to miss your children growing up because you are at work.
Not to be so exhausted because you say YES when you want to say NO!
Not to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders.
What if your real job is to have a great life…?
Have you ever noticed that so many people seem to be sleep-walking through life, doing the same patterns of behavior everyday, and then wondering why they are bored and unhappy, perhaps waiting for something to happen so things will change? Have you done that too?
I invite you to step out of any pattern NOW that says “I can do it later!”
We have no idea how long we will be here.
I believe the universe is always sending us information about what is working and what is not, and when we don’t listen or pay attention, the universe sends us louder messages, dramatic wakeup calls… accidents, illness, broken relationships, and mishaps, raising the intensity of the message to such a degree that we have to listen.
That is the hard way to change.
Yet, in those dramatic moments, we may begin to ask ourselves the questions we won’t listen to while we are sleep walking, going through the motions.
We may ask:
Am I living… fully?
Am I loving…? Who is going to miss me, who will I miss?
Do I matter? Is there a reason I am here?
Am I creating something I am proud of?
Does my life have meaning?
Do I feel fulfilled?
I think it is time to ask these questions NOW, because,
I am still here… you are still here.
The clock is ticking, we don’t know how much time we have here and there is no time like now to get going.
How would your life be different if you chose to believe My real job is to have a great life?
Take a moment to imagine…
I believe when each of us arrived in this life, we were given a job… it’s just that nobody told us. I believe that our job is to be a happy, healthy, vibrant human being making a contribution. If I had known that, I wouldn’t have doubted myself so much, and I would have made very different decisions along the way. How about you?
Let’s see what Random House Dictionary says about each of these pieces…
- Happy
- fortunate, effective, well- being, contentment, joyous… are you happy?
- Healthy
- soundness and vigor of the body and mind, freedom from disease or ailment… are you healthy?
- Vibrant
- pulsating with energy, resonant, passionate… are you vibrantly alive?
- Contribute
- to give in common with others, to play a significant part in bringing about a result… are you using your gifts and talents to create positive results for yourself and others?
Would you sign up for this job description? To be content and joyous, vigorous in body and mind, pulsating with passion and using your gifts a talents for the highest good!
I say, YES… Sign me up!
Now is always the time to have a great life, no matter what the circumstances.
Remember Mary Oliver’s words…
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting–
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
What will you do right now… today… to step into the life you have always dreamed of living?
One step takes you from dreaming to reality.
Until next time…
What if your real job is to have a great life?

Kris,
So happy to be able to connect from home. I loved your message, and look forward to your next blog.
Hello Kris,
What a great question to lead off with and a real boost in these interesting times. I am guessing you filmed without an audience, so I would recommend you get some local wing nuts in for the next one. People with alive eyes who can respond to your broadcast as its happening. As a previous writer noted, some of the sparkle and joy you bring to your teaching was missing. having made recordings before, I completely understand how that happens. Your wisdom and good energy are needed more than ever. i would love to see you blog with some True Colors teens about ways to be strong and true as a young person, also more reading like at night when you read to participants before bed, hearing you affirm our living is a great thing. Another topic would be some from Namaste, interfaith dialogues.
Peace to you Listening Heart,
Radient Fire Playful Water
Thank you, Kris! As someone else already said, I very much appreciate having you right here with me, hearing your voice and seeing you! I am reminded of being at Wings. You have such a special way with words that help me reconnect with what I really want in my life. Thank you!
Thank you, Kris, for this video! I felt uplifted watching it. I feel inspired that you told us you were afraid, but you did it anyway. There is something I have been on the fence about mostly due to fear, and seeing you encourages me to do it anyway too.
What I would change is the starting frame where the video is still just before playing. It is frozen on your expression that to me looks sad and tired. I would make sure it starts with a frame of you looking how you want to look.
What I want to hear more about is forgiveness. Such as, How do I know when I’ve truly forgiven? Does the forgivee need to know about it? Is it necessary to instantly forgive in order to live fully in the present moment?
Thank you.
Yeah for you Kris! I love that you are out of your comfort zona and saying a big YES to that. You are already larger than life, and now you will only get bigger with the use of this instant technology. This is such an important message to share and it is inspirational to me and I know so many others. I too am living out of my comfort zone and find that I am liking it alot. I feel really alive and challenged and growing moment by moment. I learned to say yes to life, MY LIFE, by attending many Wings seminars that have helped me get clear about what I wanted. My job is to have a great life. Thank you for being the amazing blessing you are. Love, Love, Love!
Amy
Kris- What a great new medium for you! Thank you for sharing your wonderful message.
I look forward to your next video blog.
With love,
Ann
What a great way to keep the message out in the world. I am so proud that you have taken this step. You look great, sound great and I know its out of your comfort zone. You do teach by example!!!YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!
Love Lisa
Kris,
This was a wonderful reminder that life is short and filled with so many possibilities. I enjoyed hearing from you. I finished PES in September 09′ and found that after a week went by I was longing for the dear friends that I had made. I expanded my comfort zones and have been reaping many benefits for this. Life is a choice, I choose to be both passionate and healthy for myself and my three beautiful boys.
Thank you! You are a true blessing put on this earth to awaken dreams that were forgotten along the way.

Dear Kris,
I am so grateful that you have taken the leap in doing a video blog!
For myself, and undoubtedly countless others, waking up and listening to your voice and actually seeing your face brings me to the real “present.” I find myself breathing deeper and reminded to live from a place of vision, awake and open.
In deepest gratitude,
Lucienne
Thank you Kris – what a great idea – loved your inspiring message, as always and look forward to more.
Be well!
Elise
WOW Kris
fantastic for you to be spreading your messages with the technology of video and blogging. Your voice is so calming and meditative. It is inspiring to know that you are going outside of your comfort zone. I love the question: what if you real job is to have a great life…thank you for this thought, profound and thrilling.
Always
octavia
I have been linked back into my place of source. Your blog is so important! I have shared it with so many people and we are all getting more air under our wings. Thanks so much Kris!
Hey Kiddo;
Such a wonderful early morning to see you continue to spread the same word. I am reminded that progress is absolute and it is right here, right now. The Blog you choose to air will no doubt fuel many with a reminder of their experiences and awakenings while present in the great room at your seminar house. I am grateful for every experience that I have met in this life.
Your visual and words in the Blog suddenly openned the flood gates in my heart. Good for you Kris, and of course for all who choose to tune in.
My Love and respect,
Walter
What a GREAT idea! I love hearing your voice, your words and your inspiration. I feel rejuvenated. Thank you, and I can’t wait for more.
Very special and a needed reminder. Thank you.
Thankyou!
Hi Kris,
Like Val, seeing you is a wonderful gift. I certainly support the idea of video blogging.
I’ve been traveling around the country doing locem tennens assignments. We have moved to Union, Washington. Lots of changes, mostly good.
As always, your words and perceptions inspire me to reexamine within. Both Val and I have been doing lots of that work via other ways over the years since we were last together with positive results.
One constructive criticism about the presentation. I believe that if you use a clip on microphone it would eleminate the background echo and I would not have to turn my volume up to full to hear all of what you say.
Best personal regards to you and your wonderful husband. Much love and gratitude for all you do and what you and your programs have done for me.
P.S. I keep referring folks to you, almost weekly. Hope at least some of them have showed up.
How quickly that simple little blog brought me back to my source, reminding me of that place in my soul that is desperate to thrive. Sitting here i’m feeling the intensity of my heartbeat and the graceful flow of my breath, with tears in my eyes…tears of gratitude… for this magnificent universe and its creator.
Hi, Kris,
Wow! It is nice to have you in person (almost), reminding me to be in the present and live for joy. It is hard to believe it has been 17-1/2 years since I was introduced to PES. You and James were co-facilitators and you changed my life for the better. As much as possible I am still living my contract and your video brings it all back.
I look forward to seeing and reading more from you on the blog.
With love and respect,
Tom Hockett
WOW! What can I say!?! Kris: You totally ROCK. Thank you for this video blog. Keep doing the good that you are doing!
We are here! Listening Heart ….a great place to heal and to connect. Today is a new “script day” and we writing a caring and nurturing relationship and being current….a great place we are in to practice….thank you for your efforts including electronically now….to reach and support the growth of all…ikt makes for a better world.
As I sit this morning after putting my 9 month old granddaughter down for a nap with a full tummy and the embodiment of “Happy, Joy, and Love” I listen to your first voice video and I am warmed as if it was I who was held, fed, and rocked. Thank you for being in my life and all the others who are so blessed to hear your message. It was a great first and I look forward to more. I also am committed to making my job to have a GREAT LIFE. Thank you, thank you. God Bless, Nancy
Hey Kris, great video. Good to see your face. Your presence, even on video is inspiring to me. Look forward to the monthly video posts. I think that is a perfect amount of content. Also, I think as time goes on you’ll get more comfortable with this process and will probably be able to speak without scripts like you do in your seminars. Either way its good stuff. Thanks.
Nate
Thanks Kris. This message is a wonderful send-off for me this weekend. I am marking the beginning of my life of intent–living on purpose, “vibrant” and “passionate” as you so aptly put it.
Welcome to the “Blogosphere”! An excellent way to stay in touch with hundreds of people on a more personal level.
Thanks Kris for all you have done, do and continue to do!
Warmest Regards,

Amazing, once again exactly what I needed to hear today. There is a a huge sense of freedom that goes with knowing thats my only job. The techno-communiction has been a positive addition. Kris, with great respect, thank you.
Bravo Kris,
As I listen to your voice, I am reminded how much my life has changed in the 15+ years since my first seminar and what an incredible influence your “questions” have had on my choices. I am a grateful beginner and a work in prgress every day. Thank you for being part of my evolution…my wake up
Congratulations on your next steps with technology. I can hardly wait to share your voice.
KIM
Kris, again the universe surprises and delights me in the presentation of words available for my struggling self. Your message touched upon my experiences this past week, brings tears to my eyes in gratitude of your understanding and thoughtfulness in sharing. The geese flying overhead are one of the small things that I stop what I am doing and pay attention to. The sound fills me with joy and only recently have I become aware and acknowledged this. After your clip was finished, as I was taking it all in, the geese flew over my house. I am being spoken to and I am listening.
Kris,
Congratulations on your first electronic blog. I was sharing intention statements with my CrossOver mates, when your message popped into my inbox.
Hearing the sound of your voice, took me right back to PES.
I look forward to your next installment. These are great reminders.
Thank you for this,
Steve
Thanks Kris – Throughly enjoyed your first presentation. I loved the poem. Where can I find a copy? I too wish to have a great life and I know that the time is ticking. Thanks
Thank you Kris
What a wonderful way to start my day. Yes I believe you are absolutely right, our job is to have a great life, living in the moment.
Love and Peace
Christopher
This is great. It is nice to have a way to communicate with you. The work you and your staff do is instrumental in the happy and healthy state of our conciousness as a community. Yea to technology. I feel a personal connection even through the internet. It is a current form of presence and your work can’t be too available. Many blessings and lots of love. Mark
Thank you so much for doing this Kris! I really appreciate seeing you stepping out & taking a risk, I am inspired to so myself – TODAY! How wonderful it is to be able to see and hear you and get reconnected & reminded of what is really most important to me.
Awesome idea and great words, Kris! So nice to see you diving into the tekkie blogosphere. And so nice to see your smiling face.
You are one of the best speakers I have had the honor of being trained by, but the leap to video does not show your full abilities. Here are some suggestions I thought of to try. It might work better to back up the camera and let you move around more. I remember you as a kinethetic speaker, and your movements convey a lot. Also, how about speaking to some actual people instead of having to look at the camera the whole time. You don’t have to film the people in the room, but your facial expressions are more intentional when you are giving this powerful message to a live person. Also your smiles and pauses as you let it sink in will be more natural. Your speaking is flawless, no ums and ahs, its just that it feels like the whole Kris isn’t allowed to come out.
I do love your addition of video though. As I said before, you are a powerful speaker, and just reading these reflections on life isn’t enough for me. It sinks in because of how you present it. Keep playing with it, you are correct in thinking you will reach more people.
I love it! How exciting! I called my clients and moved my entire schedule forward so I could stay home later and watch this! I watched it twice. Great job. I am so thrilled you are doing this! I am going to forward this video to my friends that i tell about you and Wings all the time. The cool part is now they can see you and hear you and it will be much easier to get them to PES!!!!
Congrats on finding another way to share your kind voice and great wisdom, Kris! Thank you!
Darcie
I kove this Kris! Thank you for taking this step. I look forward to future blogs and more connection with you. Well done!
Good morning world….Kris is here with words to start my day with.
Thank you In gratitude for sharing you, your knowing, your wisdon, your humor, your beauty, your spirit, and your great life words.
Words to share, words that make a difference. Words to start my day and end my day asking what did I do today to create my great life.
To myself and all those will to take the leap and say “Yes” we have Kirs in our homes, our lives as a constent connection.
I can’t wait to share this….
You are so appreciated.
Thank you for sharing you heart, your love.

Kris,
Yet, again, you add value to the lives of those around you. Thank you for reminding me to be aware of my “greatest life.” What a great way to start my Friday morning!
With love!
Kris,
This is wonderful. Your blog was a real treat to wake up with today. Thank you for getting my day started in a positive way.
I love the offering of “a great life” for each of us, the very essence of WINGS. The inclusion of Mary Oliver’s poem reminded me of how this day I am part of nature and nature is part of me. It is indeed a beautiful statement.
I look forward to more of these blogs, including more of the videos. For me they add a sense of conversation in the present.
Thank you,
Warmest wishes.

Kris
Your blog is a further example of why Wings is unique. I feel supported, encouraged and loved when I watched your blog this morning. What a wonderful way to start my day, with a reminder to live joyously. Thank you for sharing your heart.
Camille
What a wonderful way to stay connect to the concepts of Wings and life. I have noticed that the longer I am away from the building and people the easier it is to forget and fall back into old patterns. I have been saying how I wish there was a get together once a month to keep everything fresh and moving forward. This will help in that process.
I just started a new job (day three today) and was mourning the loss of time with my animals, my house, my garden and myself. I HAD a wonderful life was my thought. I learned and did all kinds of new things like canning and drying food from the garden, attending PES and Crossover, working on my sobriety (2 years and counting), driving a moving truck to Florida to take my son to graduate school, and many other new experiences. The last two years have been a time of growing and honestly living in the past rather than the present. Looking at where I was instead of where I am, who I want to be rather than who I am, and looking at the wonderful qualities in others instead of the wonderful qualities in myself. Today I will remember that my job is to HAVE a wonderful life! Thanks Kris for the reminder..
Tarie
Way ta go!!! One suggestion from my video producer side — when you get a chance try a lavalier mike for better sound. Regardless, I’m quite impressed. Thank you for such a lovelyl message, one that seemed most apropos this morning. I can’t wait to forward your blog and video to friends. And people I’ve been telling about you for years.
What a great way to start my morning! Thanks, Kris, that was awesome!
Thank you Kris! We a nice surprise to receive a message from you all the way here in England. Wings has helped me find and follow my dreams. Regular messages along my journey over here, so far from all of you, touches my heart and makes it sing!
Yea Kris! Absolutely, my true job to to have a great life and find beauty and joy in every moment. At this late hour, as I was finishing just a few more things before we leave for a dash to Portland tomorrow, your note came through and you will now be the last face I see, the last voice I hear before I retire to reconnect with my most full self; what a wonderful way to begin that journey!
Be well beautiful woman and know that you are so loved!
Jesse
Wahoo!
